The need for speed is REAL and Bimba Y Lola Fall/Winter 2017 collection is all about the racing look and living in the fast lane.

Think cars and racer motorbikes, shooting stars, rockets, supersonic aircraft, and human cannonballs.

The energetic range, which is punctuated by a palette of reds, blacks and whites, is the perfect blend of modernity and 80s films about races, such as The Cannonball Run and Stroker Ace.

By taking elements from the competition racing tracks, the collection features prints that incorporate comic style racing explosions and tattoos from motorists.

It also infuses glossy and metallic materials that mimic car paint, emblematic accents, as well as visible zippers and quilting that bring out the essence of a pilot’s suit.

Aside, novelty rubber finishes, crackled leather and fleecy textures (see left) adorn the apparel pieces and bags, to give them a bold look.

Lastly, and to add the icing on the cake, Bimba Y Lola went full-out with its line of jewellery.

There is an abundance of drama – in the form of huge necklaces of colourful beads, earrings in resin, mirror, as well as rusty metallic finish, imitating the paint on old cars and hand painted resin.

All ready to get you in the mood for the much-anticipated 2017 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in September 2017, don’t you think?
