2018 is indeed the year for #sneakerheads (and there’s no better time to be one, really)!

With the incredible influx of fun, quirky sneakers to select from, I’d dare say that we are really spoilt for choices this year, and the icing on the cake would have to be ones adorned with our favourite Disney childhood character!

In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary, ASICSTIGER™ has released not one, but three spanking, new styles globally.

They are designed around ‘Plane Crazy’, a six-minute silent short (and a landmark moment) that catapulted Mickey Mouse, the ‘True Original’ and an endearing icon in his own right, to fame in 1928.

Available in both low and mid-top iterations, each shoe from the series is a unique masterpiece of its own, featuring scenes from the animation.

The GELPTG low model (S$169 – above), a throwback to the basketball shoes of the 1980s, is the canvas for Mickeyʼs first flight on the toe box, while the GEL-PTG MT mid-top model (S$189 – below) is a trip down nostalgia lane as it re-enacts the debut of the lovable, cartoon couple Mickey and Minnie, both depicted in jet black print alongside the ASICS Stripes.

As if these designs aren’t stunners of their own, the all-red GEL-LYTE HIKARI (from S$99 onwards) with accents of black, white and grey; colours synonymous with Mickey Mouse, is fashioned with a modern, all-over print of the cartoon character’s head.

Whether you’re thinking of wearing it for a sporty activity or simply to spice up your daily ensemble with its bold splash of colour, the lightweight shoe with its technical materials will definitely be the talk amongst your peers.

So are you ready to go out and score one of these awesome kicks for yourself? The collection is now available islandwide at selected LEFTFOOT outlets and LE Underground at VivoCity. They will also be available in ASICS stores from January 2019 onwards.

For now, why not waltz yourself into the Disney’s retro animation (‘Plane Crazy’ – below) that has inspired the collection?
