Some bags become recognisable because of the moments they follow us through.

For Longchamp, that story has long belonged to Le Pliage. The foldable silhouette has travelled through airports, office corridors and weekend escapes, becoming one of those rare designs that feels familiar before you even notice the logo.

With Fall/Winter 2026, the French house introduces a different kind of everyday essential. Meet Le Cadence, a new leather handbag that trades the playful practicality of Le Pliage for something softer, more tactile and deliberately understated.

Designed around movement rather than occasion, Le Cadence is made for the changing pace of modern life. It is the kind of bag that does not require a wardrobe change between meetings, errands and dinner plans, adapting through its relaxed proportions and fluid silhouette.

The design itself finds its appeal in restraint. Crafted from unlined, full-grain grained cowhide leather, Le Cadence allows the natural texture of the material to take centre stage. Without an inner lining, the leather’s surface remains visible, celebrating the craftsmanship and character that develops over time.

There is something appealing about a bag that acknowledges wear rather than fighting against it. Like a favourite leather jacket or a well-loved pair of shoes, the beauty lies in how it gradually becomes yours.

At first glance, Le Cadence appears simple. Look closer, and the details reveal themselves. The double flap construction creates its softly rounded shape, while fine light gold hardware adds a subtle touch of polish without overpowering the silhouette.

The wide adjustable shoulder strap also reflects the way bags are carried today. Worn short in the hand, over the arm or casually across the shoulder, the design shifts with the wearer rather than asking the wearer to adjust.

Available in two sizes, Le Cadence balances spaciousness with ease, with the larger version offering enough room for daily essentials and even a laptop. It is a practical consideration that feels especially relevant for those moving between different parts of the day with one bag in tow.

The colour palette follows the same timeless approach. Black, Bordeaux, Mocha, Dulce and Vanilla bring warmth and versatility, allowing the leather silhouette to move beyond seasonal trends.

“Le Cadence is a bag with a natural lightness that integrates effortlessly into everyday life. It accompanies its wearer from morning to evening and feels natural in the most diverse moments. Designed as a modern essential, it combines comfort, versatility and timeless style,” shares Sophie Delafontaine, Creative Director of Longchamp.

While Le Pliage remains the symbol of Longchamp’s effortless practicality, Le Cadence introduces another side of the house: one that explores softness, craftsmanship and the quiet confidence of beautifully made leather.

Because sometimes the most enduring pieces are not the ones that demand attention. They are the ones that simply become part of the story.

The Longchamp Le Cadence line is available online and in stores, with prices ranging from S$845 to S$1,110.
