One frame can spark curiosity. The next begins to reveal the bigger picture.

With the second design from its upcoming intelligent eyewear collection, Gentle Monster is offering a clearer sense of where its first venture into wearable technology is headed. Rather than introducing another statement silhouette, the Korean eyewear label opts for something more understated: a clean square optical frame that feels right at home alongside the brand’s existing collections.

It’s a subtle move, but an intentional one.

Developed in partnership with Google and Samsung Electronics, the upcoming collection marks Gentle Monster’s first exploration of intelligent eyewear. Yet this latest reveal makes it increasingly clear that the brand isn’t interested in making technology the loudest part of the conversation. Instead, it continues to treat the frame itself as the hero, allowing familiar proportions and thoughtful design to take the lead.

The square silhouette reflects exactly that approach. Free from overtly futuristic cues, it carries the effortless confidence that has long defined Gentle Monster’s optical collections, proving that everyday wearability can be just as compelling as experimentation.

That philosophy extends into the campaign imagery starring Alex Consani and Anok Yai. Rather than presenting the collection like a piece of consumer electronics, the visuals place the focus on styling, attitude and the frames themselves, reinforcing the fashion perspective that has shaped Gentle Monster since its beginnings.

Hidden within the lightweight frame, however, is an entirely new experience.

The intelligent eyewear integrates speakers, microphones, a camera and Google Gemini, allowing wearers to play music, make calls, capture photos and interact using natural voice commands. Real-time translation, navigation and contextual assistance are also built into the experience, helping users access information while staying present in their surroundings. The eyewear is compatible with Android devices, including Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel, as well as Apple’s iPhone.

Still, it’s the restraint that makes this second reveal feel interesting.

For a brand known for pushing the boundaries of eyewear design, Gentle Monster could easily have leaned into something overtly futuristic. Instead, this latest frame demonstrates that intelligence doesn’t need to come at the expense of familiarity. It looks like a pair of glasses first, allowing the technology to become part of the experience rather than the entire identity of the product.

With two designs now unveiled, the collection is beginning to take shape ahead of its full release later this autumn. If the first reveal introduced Gentle Monster’s ambitions, this second one offers something equally important: confidence that the brand’s distinctive design language can evolve without losing sight of what made people fall in love with its eyewear in the first place.
