Alas, we have our very own Vivienne Westwood Anglomania standalone store; the first-ever store to open in Singapore (The brand was previously housed in Tyan Boutique, Ion Orchard).

I have always loved Vivienne Westwood, the grand dame who has led and catapulted the punk & new wave fashion phenomenon back in the 1970s, and whose styles may often come across as kooky, edgy and outrageous. Her fun, non-serious style is indeed admirable since she pioneered an era of fashion where people were conservative and highly unreceptive to styles that were outside of their comfort zone, and in this case, the punk style. This is probably why she has always been coined the anti-fashion queen of her decade.

Today, her individualistic stance as well as her penchant for tartan plaids is clearly unmistakable and iconic when one thinks of Vivienne Westwood. What I truly like is her unwillingness to compromise to anything; simply bravo! So when I first heard of the news that her younger and more casual diffusion line, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania is opening a store in Singapore, I put my fists up in the air, and said “Hell Yeah!”

Just this Wednesday, we were invited to Opening Launch by TYAN Fashions Group to view the fashion show of Vivienne Westwood Anglomania S/S 2012 collection, as well as a look of the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania store, in a nicely set-up corner in Isetan Scotts, Level 2 (which has opened in March 2012).

Some photos from the fashion show:

This current collection, which is available in-store, may come across as youthful in it’s somewhat vibrant and artistic prints, but it has undoubtedly paid homage to Vivienne Westwood’s undying love for punk rock and her rebellious persona. For starters, models were styled with no-so-tamed hair, lugging bags in statement-making shapes (such as heart-shapes and hexagons), bold silhouettes as well as a significant usage of acid colours in iconic draped necklines. One can also rejoice in the shoes from Vivienne Westwood x Melissa collection (think jelly pumps with heart-shaped motifs as well as wings, and man- they look comfortable- seriously the ‘pumped-up kicks’ you that should get).

And here’s what the Vivienne Westwood store in Isetan Scotts has to offer:

The store houses the line’s casual collection of apparel, accessories and shoes, including the label’s casual wear collaboration with Lee Jeans, punk-inspired tees and denim, and edgy accessories and jewellery.

And not forgetting the brand’s popular Vivienne Westwood for Melissa line of jelly shoes.

Wallets and purses in all range of forms and colours, from acid neons to metallics and graphical prints! Choices are aplenty!

My favourite bag from the store; the galaxy bag from Vivienne Westwood S/S 2012 collectionRoomy & statement-making, what more can a girl ask for?

Take this, if this is a hint of what is to come, then I’d say the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania flagship store which will be opening be June 2012, will definitely be a big one!

So start anticipating! x
