Breitling has never been particularly shy about its love for watches that actually do something.

Founded in 1884, the Swiss watchmaker built its reputation on chronographs and navigational instruments, and its watches have long been associated with aviation, exploration and, increasingly, motorsport. So a partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team feels rather appropriate.

This October, Breitling is bringing that partnership to Singapore with the Breitling x Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Pop-Up, running from 3 to 12 October.

And this is not one of those pop-ups where you walk in, look at a watch through a glass case and walk out.

There is a Formula One racing simulator, a Reaction Speed Test and a display of helmets from the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, alongside a showcase of Breitling timepieces. Visitors who complete both challenges can also enter the Combined-score Challenge, with the highest combined score of the day winning a Breitling x Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team cap and vest.

There is one winner every day, so those with a competitive streak may want to come prepared.

The watch at the centre of the partnership is the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, the first co-branded timepiece from the collaboration.

Limited to 1,959 pieces, the number pays tribute to the year Aston Martin first entered Formula One. The watch itself takes the team’s racing identity into the design, with an Aston Martin Racing Green and carbon-fibre dial, lime accents and a 43mm titanium case.

The racing references continue with a leather strap inspired by a racing harness, while the open sapphire-crystal caseback gives you a look at Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. The COSC-certified self-winding mechanical movement has approximately 70 hours of power reserve, and the matte-black tungsten rotor carries the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team logo.

Turn it over and the caseback is engraved with “One of 1959” and “Instruments for Drivers.”

The Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team is priced at S$15,200 and is available at Breitling boutiques in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion.

If that is slightly beyond your watch budget, Breitling has another way to get you involved.

The “B” Challenged by Breitling digital game runs from 28 September at 8pm until 11 October at 11pm, giving players 60 seconds to stop a moving chronograph at exactly 12 o’clock. The more accurate you are, the more points you collect.

You get three official attempts each day, plus unlimited practice.

The prizes are rather more tempting than bragging rights. First place wins a Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43, followed by an Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team cap and vest, a Breitling leather weekender, a canvas weekender, and a Breitling cap and mug set for second through fifth place.

So yes, all those years of stopping the microwave timer at exactly zero may finally have prepared you for something.

There is also a special appearance by an Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team driver on 8 October, adding another reason for Formula One fans to drop by.

The partnership itself has plenty of history behind it. Breitling has spent more than a century making watches for pursuits on air, land and sea, and continues to produce its own manufacture calibres, with every movement COSC-certified as a chronometer.

Aston Martin’s racing story goes back even further than its current Formula One chapter. The marque made its Grand Prix debut in 1922, took an outright victory at Le Mans in 1959 and returned to Formula One in 2021. Today, its performance programme operates from the AMR Technology Campus in Silverstone.

There is therefore no shortage of racing heritage behind the collaboration. But what I like about this particular Breitling is that it does not rely on simply putting a racing logo on a watch and calling it a day. The green, carbon-fibre dial, titanium case, harness-inspired strap and details on the caseback actually give you something to look at.

And for anyone who would rather experience the racing side of the partnership than simply read about it, the pop-up is open daily from 10am to 10pm at Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, #01-35, from 3 to 12 October 2026.

Bring your reflexes. You might need them.
