While it is true that men cannot live by bread alone, fashion too cannot exists alone.

It should be fused and paired in a complimentary manner with art, music and all forms that stir the human senses. When paired, it should excite, engage and thrill the emotions, and to me, that is a winning combination.

A fine example would be none other than the works of Masha Reva, our Artist of the Month.

Hailing from Ukraine, Masha Reva’s designs are portrayed in shoots that resonate across the threshold of fashion and art. Her works are derived and conceptualized with the aim to merge our real selfs and become part of the internet; the modern day virtual world where we do about our daily tasks, stay abound to the various social networks and information websites, that somehow, creates a superficial representation of ourselves on the web.

To translate this, scenes of cranes, feathers, splashes of flowers, cells, membranes and organic motifs are depicted in a digitally enhanced setting which challenges you to differentiate what is real and what is not; impeccable methods of merging of prints against prints, real against digital, organic motifs against a myriad of technological advances, thus, serve as a great story-telling device for the emotionally-provoking world in itself.

The morphing of Renaissance age into a modern fascination is also but a scene to behold.

Never before has a designer so effectively combined real vs. virtual, and fashion vs. art in a seamless manner, whereby the synergy from the clothes and digital art are weaved and transmitted to each other.

And of course, the main focal point of these pictures; the clothes by Masha Reva is but a ravishing and splendid manifestation of intriguing prints and cuts that just seem to take my breath away! Simply marvelous!

And of course, take a sneak peek into her moodboards and sketches, shared with us exclusively from Masha Reva herself!
