One thing is for certain, and that is, menswear is going to be taking centrestage this April, in a big, big way!

Not only do we have our very own Men’s Fashion Week 2012 coming right up, we also see the opening of Swedish clothing J.Lindeberg’s first-ever flagship store in Singapore (and also the first in Southeast Asia), here at The Mandarin Gallery.

The brand, renowned for their contemporary, elegant aesthetics and use of high-quality materials opened the boutique for it’s first day of operations with a Spring/Summer 2012 fashion presentationproduced by fashion producer Daniel Boey himself! Guest star of the afternoon is none other than Mediacorp Artiste, Tay Ping Hui, who was introduced as the brand ambassador at the Opening Launch yesterday!

At the launch, we also had a preview and a walkthrough of the brand new J.Lindeberg boutique. The 1,200 square feet boutique, which is located on 2nd level of the fashion-forward mall, is one that will indeed transport you to a sublime Scandinavian world of J.Lindeberg!

From the point you step foot into the store, and to the point where you actually do your shopping, the classy interiors of J.Lindeberg boutique, which feature a raw edged feel from untreated concrete floor and even to redesigned vintage furnitures in wood to ashwood, is welcoming, sleek and organized, thereby setting a comfortable shopping environment for the men who love their sartorial threads. Simply the ideal retail destination for the fashionable gentlemen!

This Spring/Summer 2012, J.Lindeberg is nonetheless bringing their signature fusion of fashion and sportwear again! This exquisite fashion presentation encapsulates an expedition to Gotland – the island of the north, where shape, form and function is redefined with classic multifunctional and reformed, modern utility items.

During the presentation, models were seen spotting diverse outfits in a color palette dominated by natural greys, chalky whites and beige. Of course, bright, vibrant hues were vivdly prominent in the collection, creating everyday looks that are suitable for all occassion, for the modern travelling gentleman.

The season’s must-have is the unique ‘Concord Travel Wool’ travelling blazer (above) that is unconstructed with hidden internal pockets for everything you need to carry when you are travelling. Pretty innovative stuff! And now you can do away with that fumblesome travel sling pouch.

The collection, with it’s clever fabrication in high performance, laser-cut Japanese fabrics (moisture repellent and transporting membrane technologies), as well as easy-to-wear knitwear in cashmere, cotton and ultra-light wools that are knitted and weaved in symbolic patterns, is clearly the label to go to this season!
