Making its second year into the fashion trade history locally is Singapore’s very own BLUEPRINT event, held at the Suntec Convention Centre.

Blueprint 2012 Campaign

With ‘Embodying The Future’ being set as this year’s theme, it shines its focus on the following 150 emerging talented designers around the region as part of fashion’s future frontiers, including the newly joined partnership with The Brandery Asia.

It’s a fest to the locals like myself to indulge in brands that are almost never before commercially seen. A great platform for designers, buyers, media and consumers of both local and international personalities to interact and mingle with each other.

And I find it an incredible idea to launch the ‘Wearing Emerging Designers’ (W.E.D) movement this year and implement it right at the start of this year so the momentum and idea of wearing emerging designers’ designs eventually build up and lead up to the actual Blueprint event.

The following are pictures taken during the runway which kick started the first day of Blueprint’s trade show! Brands include Debb (Seoul), Dressedundressed (tokyo), Evenodd (Singapore), -J-A-S-O-N- (Singapore), Juma (Toronto), Nikicio (Jakarta), Oswald Helgason (UK) and PU3 (Malaysia).

With the multitude of labels and designers to check out, we troopers were totally spoiled for choices!!

We would love to share every single experience we held at all the stores but we are not filming a documentary here. So instead, we going to share you the top 5 stalls we felt deserve the limelight! Lights please!

1) Rouge Rouge

Spotted in the heart of the trade show is Thai designer, Duang Wannaporn Poshyanonda (in black). This fashionista’s zesty personality and trademark big red lips inspired and created her brand Rouge Rouge in collaboration with British designer, Mark Ketteringham. We love love LOVE her quirky, cheek-in-tongue shaped bags! Girl, check out those cool bags in shape of eye, hats, lips, dove and even mustache! So sexy! You’ll definitely be the talk of the town carrying one of these!

2) Sue Comma Bonnie

Theses statement-making kicks break our stride as we walked down the aisle and i can tell you why. Those loud, vivid, vibrant coloured shoes adorn with embellishments took our attention immediately. Designed by Lee Bo-huyn, Sue Comma bonnie is being demanded in 15 stores nationwide. Worn by top korean celebrities on red carpet events. Her shoes spell both futuristic and feminie. Who says scandals are so boring? With her designs, you can walk down the red carpet and still shine in the spotlight. Definitely have to get your hands on one of these!

Check out these studded silver shoes which will soon be worn by the fabulous bad-arsed kicking Korean girl group, 2NE1! I know die hard fans like myself would love to get our hands onto items that our favourite celebrities adorn! Love the use of studs and diamante set into the white and silver coloured shoes.

3) Emma Ware at Nana & Bird

Exquisite leather fringed accessories designed by London based artist and designer, Emma Ware. You won’t believe if i told you that these handmade jewellery pieces are made with materials which are upcycled. Each pieces are like a work of art. So sleek and classic. The little-black-accessory that you would want to wear in all occasions.

.

4) Edge of Ember

Another accessory designer spotted is Lynette Ong, the designer of Edge of Ember.

Without formal training in this field, Lynette’s natural talent for designs and aesthetic judgement for accessories can be witnessed through her display. We love how her designs are both feminine and edgey at the same time. A perfect gift for your loved ones in all occasions. We can’t tell you how proud we were of our local talent! Keep it up girl!

5) URFACE

This Thai bag and accessories brand, Urface tops my chart of the ultimate must-have in this trade show!

I personally love the aesthetic and functionality of their products. I heard from Joker, the brand manager that they hold monthly collaborations with graphic designers. What they do is that they uses selected designer’s famous prints and then use it as a layout for their signature bags design. Brilliant! The inner compartments of the tote bag are designed specifically for Apple products, with functions such as the ipad and iphone slots!

Each designs are exclusive as they are cap in between 9-19 pieces max in every country distributed. Also, each pieces are personally autographed by the designers. How cool is that? Look out for this brand as who knows your favorite designers might be collaborating with them soon 🙂

Serious enjoyed this year’s Blueprint 2012! Counting down to next year’s!
