Xinlin x Couture Troopers

“In a universe populated by a multitude of life forms, it’s not uncommon to come across one, or two… or four extraterrestrials, with an almost schizophrenic love for drama.Xinleh x Couture Troopers

Something witchy has indeed landed. By that, I’m referring to our latest collaboration with artist and illustrator Xinlin, who goes by the moniker ‘Xinleh‘. She is also currently serving as CT’s resident writer.

In this collaborative piece, her work is anything but ordinary. It denotes a sense of childlike innocence that is purged with a bold and wacky brush of electric drama – an intelligent manipulation with a tinge of irony.

As an artist, Xinleh hones a dedicated passion and fervent attention to details, showcasing an energetic style that is contemporary yet fixated within the traditional style of drawing and sketching methods.

With the clever choice of copic markers as her main medium, the artistic breadth within her rendering and strokes transcends a rich form of fluidity and refinement, which allows the viewers’ imagination to take flight into another world – one that is spunned out of theatrics and straight into the surreal realm of the subconscious.

Not restraining to fashion alone, her varied subject matters give depth and diversity within a zoomed-in look at the beauty of nature and literature, as well as a macro perspective on worldly issues, space, time and style.

Asked on what she desires most: “I hope to one day own a cabinet of archaeology artefacts and very strange things.”
