In line with the nation’s Jubilee birthday, Singaporean artist Y/X (real name: Chua Koon Beng) has just launched “光宗耀祖” (Light and Brilliance)  a public exhibition named after a Chinese idiom – at the atrium of Raffles City Shopping Centre, Singapore.

The nine days long solo exhibition will see the fruition of his five-year journey into the project, capturing Y/X ‘s interpretation of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who is also the artist’s own personal hero.

Y/X’s work, comprising of original oil and painted artworks on canvas, pays homage to Lee by touching on topics such as Lee’s achievements and ideologies, as well as his vision and life.

“光宗耀祖” (Light and Brilliance) Exhibition by Y/X runs from Tuesday, 18 August 2015 till Thursday, 27 August 2015, 11.00am to 9.30pm daily, at Raffles City Shopping Centre, Level 3 Atrium. Admission is complimentary.
