Jewellery brand MAWI LONDON wins hearts with jewelled clutches at London Fashion Week

This season, the trusty clutch gets itself extremely bejeweled and glamed up.

Journeying into the tenth year of the brand since its debut at London Fashion Week in 2003, jewellery label MAWI LONDON by designer Mawi Keivom steps up the fashion game this Spring/Summer 2013 with a climatic foray into new genres, as part of the anniversary celebration.

For those who follow the brand during the past ten years, you would know that MAWI has always been creating women’s jewellery collections of richly coloured crystals paired with spikes or panthers.

And this season, they have rolled out three women’s jewellery collections alongside ounces of novel freshness, which involve a completely new men’s jewellery line entitled Sir by Mawi, as well as a new line of soft accessories, in the form of handbags or to be more specific, jeweled luxury clutches that translates the brand’s signature style of having large crystals in geometrical shapes in rhythmic patterns.

This must-have bag collection, which has won the likes of most fashion-goers at the recent London Fashion Week 2013 last September, mirrors the brand’s philosophy in the combination of cutting-edge contemporary style with traditional influences.

Adorned with an array of architectural jewels and Perspex spikes against metallic-looking glitter fabrics of multi-hues, the clutches transcend that of neon glamour, tough luxe and structural chic and are perfect for both day and night looks, especially with the wide palette of lively and compelling colours to pick from (from glistening gold to silver to fuchsia and even, neon green).

Being an avid clutch user myself, I really love this collection for its winning recipe in the incorporation or statement-making elements whilst being practical with roomy areas for all that extra stuff I tend to throw inside my clutches.

One of my personal favourite from the collection would be this green glitter clutch (below).

It has a touch of femininity yet does not come across as overly sweet, especially with the decoration of faceted acrylic spikes that gives off a tough image.

Coupled with beautiful teardrop crystals as well as industrial-looking gold tubes that encircle as decorative accents, I’d dare say that this collection will no doubt set fire to the most trendsetting bag form at the moment.
