Fashion icon and former Gucci fashion designer Tom Ford returns to the silver screen this December, with his new haunting romantic yet mordant thriller, ‘Nocturnal Animals’ –following his successful directorial debut for ‘A Single Man’ in 2009.

The film (Nocturnal Animals), which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 73rd Venice Film Festival on 10 September 2016, stars Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.

It centres around Susan (played by Amy Adams), an alienated LA art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband (Edward Sheffield, played by Gyllenhaal)’s novel. Trapped between the past and the present, she interprets his literary composition – a violet thriller – as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale directed towards her.

Based upon the 1993 novel Tony and Susan by Austin Wright, ‘Nocturnal Animals’ is indeed a cautionary tale about coming to terms with the choices that we make as we move through life and of the consequences that our decisions may have, especially in our increasingly disposable culture, where everything including our relationships can be so easily tossed away.

The thin line between love and cruelty, and revenge and redemption, is further explored as the divorced couple discover dark truths about each other and themselves – all within the 115-minutes-long movie, with impeccable and visually-compelling cinematography by Seamus McGarvey, and stylish music score by Abel Korzeniowski

The movie opens in cinemas on 1st December 2016.
