It is most astounding to see how talented the designers of Jakarta fashion jewellery label fréj are, especially with their latest win of ‘The Most Promising Accessories Brand” Award at the prestigious CLEO Fashion Awards Show, held at the recently-concluded Jakarta Fashion Week 2013.

When we first saw the collections of the label for ourselves, we were immensely blown over by the impressive workmanship and creativity in every single piece of jeweleries, and have since featured them as our Designer of the Month for September 2012.

Now at the CLEO Fashion Awards show, the designers Franky Wongkar and Jeffrey have clearly upped the notch, with this being their first-ever runway show.

For one, what they have brought forth did not just revolve around accessories, of which they are known for but rather, they have crafted an entire wardrobe collection of billowing bias-cut gowns, suits and even shoes, accentuating immense elegance as a backdrop for their statement-making pencil pieces, in the form of belts, dangling earrings, sweeping scarves, harnesses, head-gears and even incorporating the pencils onto the dress’s hemlines.

Model Katya Talanova was the first face to open Fréj’s show, showcasing a flair of sophistication-meets-innovation

.

With a show title ‘Pencivilization‘, there is clearly no doubt that the designer duo have not only revolutionised the art of jewellery-making with their iconic usage of pencils – a rare or almost never-before-used material in the whole history of jewellery making.

Not only that, it is also suffice to say that these painstakingly handmade pieces of theirs are akin to art pieces that are flawless, experimental and artistic in every single way.

There is simply no doubt that an evolution, revolution and celebration of a whole new civilization of pencil-wearing warriors, with such heart-thumping showcase that exudes much sophisticated showmanship. Even the musical beats chosen to be used in the runway show- a special mix of French musician Woodkid’s ‘Iron’ and ‘Run Boy Run’ seems to preempt that something epic is coming your way.

And this is really what I call, perfection in innovation!

Bravo and congratulations Franky and Jeff!
